Angry Birds film coming thanks to help from Marvel Man

The biggest pain in my backside due to sheer addictiveness in terms of mobile gaming over the past 12 months has been the iPhone game ANGRY BIRDS. I just cannot put the thing down. Well, it comes at no surprise, following 250 million downloads since its release back in 2009, that the property is going to be turned into a movie.
Variety report that former Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel is working with AB creators Rovio to turn the company into a super-animation house that could potentially churn out a host of animated movies, including the aforementioned ANGRY BIRDS. Apparently, Rovio want a similar ‘business model’ to what Maisel achieved Marvel Studios  (the Mouse House bought Marvel for $4 billion), which ‘would enable the company to independently grow its brand, creatively and financially.’
Conversations have already begun with potential screenwriters and directors to work on the ANGRY BIRDS movie, a title which, one produced, will have tie-ins an promotions through the game app, very much like what happened with AB and RIO (Fox) earlier on in the year.
Can’t. Hardly. Wait.
