Couples Retreat to the top of the US box-office

It's that time of the week when we report the weekend box-office in the good old U, S and A, and we're reporting this week that a Vince Vaughn comedy has taken the top spot from the mighty ZOMBIELAND which did so weel in getting to number one last weekend. COUPLE'S RETREAT managed to bag an impressive $35.3 million in its first three days. That's a ton more than studio expectations. ZOMBIELAND didn't do that bad though, retaining the number two spot and adding another $15 million to its haul. C'mon Sony, time to greenlight that sequel. CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS continues its success also, staying at three with $12 million in the bank.

The big success story of the weekend though is PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, which is getting some amazing Internet buzz, made the number five spot with a shade over $7 million taken. That amount of cash was taken in- wait for it - less than 200 theaters!!!!
